Allows an IMAP mail client, such as MS Outlook, Solaris dtmail or Netscape Messenger, to access and manage mail held in the Uniplex mailboxes by either local or remote connection.
LDAP Client in Uniplex Mail V9.20	LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) client in Uniplex Mail	Allows users to use a company-wide, networked directory for user details, email addresses, telephone etc.
DSN V9.20	Delivery Status Notifications	Reports the status of outgoing messages to the client. (Success, transient failure, failure) Provides useful English language comments on why messages did not arrive.
MDN V9.20	Message Disposition Notification	An MDN can be used to notify the sender of a message of any of several conditions that may occur after successful delivery, such as display of the message contents, printing of the message, deletion (without display) of the message, or the recipient's refusal to provide MDNs.

TIFF format graphics files can be converted to RGIP format files that can be included in a Uniplex Word Processor document. Uniplex Spreadsheet files can be exported in Lotus 1-2-3 format making them compatible with most standalone spreadsheet products, such as MS Excel. HTML files received typically as email attachments can be converted to Uniplex format.

Document Access Extensions V9.00	Adobe FrameMaker 5.0, Corel QuattroPro for Windows 7.0/WordPerfect 7.0, and Microsoft Excel 7.0/Word for Windows 7.0 (MS Office 95) have been added.	Current document formats can be handled by the system.
Document Access Update V9.00	Better conversions for common applications such as Word 6 and Excel 5 plus better handling of 8-bit characters and line drawing characteristics have been added. File Manager Update V9.00	The caching of information on entry to the File manager is now more efficient. Better management of cursor movement through the file list is provided.	The file list comes up more quickly when File Manager is started and movement through the list is easier.
Mail Command Line V9.00	A Unix shell command provides a simple way to send mail messages from a program.	Automatic mail messages can easily be sent to users.
Mail MIME Gateway V9.00	Complete support for Internet mail messaging allows the mail header to identify attachment types and to handle them correctly. Document Access converters translate Uniplex and non-Uniplex formats.	Mail attachments of any sort can be sent and received including Uniplex and third-party formats; Uniplex and non-Uniplex mail users.
Mail Other Updates V9.00	A trashcan mailbox and a Go to Bottom of a listed mailbox feature have been added.	Mailbox use has been simplified and made more powerful.
Spreadsheet Updates V9.00	An auto save feature is now available.	Remembering to make periodic manual saves is no longer necessary.
Word Processor Dictionaries V9.00	The use of supplemental dictionaries has been corrected. A spell check will use any supplemental dictionaries and will offer optional words from a combination of the system dictionaries and local ones.	Supplemental word lists may now be fully integrated with standard dictionary functionality, saving time and simplifying use.
Word Processor Other Updates V9.00	The .PM command with no arguments is used to keep following paragraphs together.	Formatting for page controls has been simplified.
File Manager V8.10	The easy-to-use and intuitive file system navigator presents folders—and the documents they contain—in a split-screen display, similar to the Microsoft Windows File Manager. Edit, print, mail, and other actions are performed by selecting the document(s) on which to operate.	Users can navigate the filing system with ease, reducing the time spent searching for specific documents. Standard actions can all be done from a single location, making the system much easier to use.
File Manager Integration V8.10	All Uniplex applications provide direct access to the File Manager at any point where a document name is required or a document is to be created. The user can take advantage of the File Manager’s comprehensive searching and file system navigation facilities, or can use its document typing capabilities to create new documents based on pre-built templates.	The full power of the File Manager is available whenever and wherever it is needed to create or locate a document.
File Manager Naming V8.10	Meaningful names may be given to all folders and documents, despite any file naming restrictions imposed by the underlying operating system. All document access, navigation, and selection can either use these names or the underlying file system name.	File names accurately describe the content or purpose of the document.
File Manager Cabinets V8.10	File cabinets are entry points into the Unix file system and are presented to the user as discrete logical filing areas. The user may navigate down the filing hierarchy from these points such as the user’s home directory, the trashcan, document template cabinets, or specific named directories which may be shared between users.	Understanding and proper organization are encouraged by easy access to logical storage within the file system. Shared workspaces for common file access by many users are easily created.
File Manager Management V8.10	Batch operations can be performed by simply highlighting one or more documents and selecting the desired action including: browse, edit, copy, move, rename, print, mail, and convert. Folder/document properties (i.e., title, type, or access rights) can be viewed or modified directly and new documents of any specific type can be created.	The process of managing documents is simplified, allowing actions to be performed without the need to invoke a specific application.
File Manager Templates V8.10	Document Templates can be used as the prototype for all new documents of a similar type. Each new document created will follow the format of the original template document specified.	The creation and maintenance of standard document formats for an organization can be based on pre-set templates for consistency and ease-of-use.
File Manager Searching V8.10	The File Manager may be used to search for documents using attributes such as the type of document, its author, keywords, or even phrases contained within the document.	Specific information can be located quickly and easily, reducing search time, confusion, and misplaced documents.
File Manager 3rd Party Support V8.10	The File Manager can handle any form of document and can be interfaced with other, third-party applications.	Uniplex can be extended to integrate any other applications present on the system.
File Manager Database V8.10	The catalog which holds the properties of each document is stored in the internal Informix-SE database. This high-performance environment contains resilient protections against corruption while allowing extensions to new, business-specific applications. Document Access V8.10	Document converters available from the File Manager are driven by an intelligent document agent which allows conversions to and from a wide variety of document formats and identifies them automatically.	Documents may be shared seamlessly within mixed environments, including Uniplex and non-Uniplex formats, created by a variety of editors.
Word Processor Print Styles V8.10	Print style information is now embedded within each word processing document.	Shared and e-mailed documents print as the original author intended.
Word Processor Print Preview V8.10	The preview mode in the Uniplex word processor has been further enhanced to improve its WYSIWYG page layout capabilities.	Verification of layouts before printing reduces costs and saves time.
Word Processor Effect Handling V8.10	Print effects within the word processor, such as bold and italic, are now independent of typeface. The paragraph typeface remains constant when effects are applied.	Document complexity is reduced and portability is increased since print effects do not change the typeface.
Word Processor Font Support V8.10	The font selection dialog allows available printer fonts (current or default printer) to be selected for use in the document.	Each printer’s capabilities may be fully used within a Uniplex document.
Word Processor Document Import V8.10	The Document Access module imports non-Uniplex documents with automatic conversion into the Uniplex format.	Text from almost any source can be included within a Uniplex document.
Database Engine Upgrade V8.00	The internal Uniplex database has been upgraded to Informix-SE Version 5.xx.	Database stability, performance, and features have been enhanced.
